Sometimes as an artist after hundreds of solitary hours experimenting, planning, practising, technical set-backs …. dreaming ideas, you get a lovely pat on the back from fellow artists you respect and admire……
I am absolutely delighted to say that I won The SWA Fine Art Award ?500 yesterday for my collection of Sugar Rush etchings. The awards were presented by SWA’s Royal Patron, HRH Princess Michael of Kent in a packed Private View at Mall Galleries. Thank you so much?Soraya French?SWA president and SWA council for the honour and recognition of my work.
The exhibition was beautifully and sensitively hung and the quality of the diverse works on show was impressive. “The SWA Annual Exhibition just gets better every year” was a comment I heard many times yesterday.
I was also featured in the catalogue and selected to have one of the images from Sugar Rush reproduced as a card on sale in the Mall Galleries shop.
Thank you to all the inspiring women artists I met yesterday and to my posse of supporters who cheered me on!
